wie ich dem englischen "News Journal" entnehme, startet die Deutsche Bahn einen ersten Schritt zu einem neuen Verkehr Frankfurt - London via Channel.

The proposed apperance of a Deutsche Bahn ICE3 service at London St Pancras International is still scheduled for 19 th October.

The working is part of plans for an eventual direct service and will form an initial test run through the tunnel as part of work underway towards achieving clearance under the stringent Channel Tunnel safty test. The likely starting date for Frankfuert services is December 2013, when it is expected to open up Britain to a new market for rail travel and put downward pressure on Eurostar fares.
The Deutsche Bahn is considering a route that would start in Frankfurt, with stops at Cologne and Brussels, en route to London. The service is expected to grow the high-speed rail market between London and the continent by around 10 % carrying more than a million passengers a year.
